Emily and Rob chose to do a DIY wedding reception in their countryside home after a ceremony at Brighton town hall. When I spoke to them about their big day in the pub a few months prior, I could see how excited they were about the day that they’d been organising, their enthusiasm was infectious.
After a lovely ceremony and a relaxed walk on the beach with them for a few pics I arrived at the reception out in the countryside in Turners Hill, Sussex. Down a little country lane and just past the fields and vegetable patches I could see that the barn attached to the newlyweds house had found a new use!
It was clear that creating an awesome venue had been a lot of hard work, Rob had even built the bar by himself, putting his carpentry skills to great use. Emily had chosen some amazing little details including the flowers that really complemented the country farmhouse feel of the day. My favourite part of all was wandering around in the setting sun with the couple and getting them go up to their necks in a crop field – it created amongst the weirdest but coolest photos I’ve done.
Thank you Emily and Rob for choosing me as your Sussex wedding photographer, enjoy your life together 🙂
