Hands up if you’ve considered a Brighton Town Hall wedding? With its grand stone columns, this place delivers all the grandeur of a stately home and yet you’re only a hop and a skip from the sea.
Brighton Town Hall wedding ceremony
For DIY-loving couple Emily and Rob, Brighton Town Hall was the perfect setting for their ceremony. Their enthusiasm was infectious and when I headed home from their consultation in a lovely local pub, I was pretty excited too.
After the ceremony and a confetti-filled exit from the town hall, the couple headed down to the beach.
As I took beautiful, laid-back photos, they walked through the sand and had a moment for the two of them. The pictures are the only evidence I was there. Kicking back in a deckchair proved the perfect pose.
Back yard barn wedding reception
The couple held their reception at their country home in Turners Hill, Sussex. The barn attached to their house had found a new purpose. Fairy lights and hops hung from the rafters, while the marquee was bright with sunflowers.
Creating a space like this is no small task. Groom Rob had even built the bar by himself, putting his carpentry skills to great use. Emily chose incredible details, including the flowers, which really complemented the farmhouse feel of the day.
But for me, the best part of their Sussex wedding setting was the surrounding farmland. As golden hour approached and the sunset filtered through, we headed out into the fields for fun couple’s portraits.
Mixing country and coastal created great variety for their wedding album, and the picture of them up to their necks in the crop field has to take the biscuit for one of the most unique I’ve taken!
Thank you Emily and Rob for inviting me to share your day as your Sussex wedding photographer. And thank you to the couples who are reading this now. Fancy getting married at a Brighton Town Hall wedding too? Check out more of my Sussex wedding photos and get in touch.
